Me and Grandma Keiko

It was a long, lonely drive from Eastern, WA over to Western, WA. I witnessed many of my triggers and response patterns emerge when making the solo journey (for the 6th or 7th time since the summer) into the lands where most of my human loves and soul family reside... (That's a deep topic into itself and I will find ways to explore those wounds throughout my medicine journey).

In THIS photo, you will see me and my grandma, a Japanese woman of 70 years of age who married my grandpa when I was 4 months old. (Okay, so technically my step grandmother, which seems like an uncommon concept). I'm so inspired by her perseverance and expression of the difficulties she's endured while adapting to the changes presented to her in moving to the states in the 1980s and sticking it out after a failed marriage (to eventually meet my grandpa after he kindled her heart when warmly greeting a stray cat on their way out of the restaurant they met at for their first date 😽).

I was able to visit my grandma Keiko on the drive over the mountains today and that certainly reminded me of the love that's available in surprising corners of the universe on this journey that can seem so lonely and isolating through The passage of life ❀️
